Delete your Showmates account

In the app (immediately)

1. Open Showmates and go to your Profile.
2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account and data.
3. Confirm. Your account and all your data are deleted immediately.

Without the app

If you no longer have the app or can't sign in, write to [email protected] from your account's email address, with the subject "Account deletion" and your username. We check that the request comes from you, delete the account within 30 days (usually much sooner) and confirm by email when it's done.

What gets deleted

• Account: email, password, username, Google sign-in.
• Profile: photo, bio, settings.
• History: shows, anime and movies you follow, episodes and movies watched, ratings, reviews, lists, subscriptions.
• Social activity: followers and people you follow, requests, blocks, reactions, watch pacts and notes.
• Games: challenges, tournaments, quizzes, scores and messages.
• Your votes on content and the history of content you've already seen.
• Push notification identifiers.

What may remain, and for how long

• Technical copies in our providers' backups, for a limited time, until they are overwritten.
• Moderation reports: they may keep a copy of the reported content, no longer linked to the account, to handle abuse and for legal protection.
• App crash reports: they contain no name or email, and Firebase deletes them after 90 days.

Deleting only some data

You can remove your photo, bio, reviews, followed titles and watched episodes from the app at any time. You can also download your history before deleting your account: Profile → Export my data. For any other request write to [email protected].
